Dziennikarstwo

Po ukończeniu szkoły Parker znalazł pracę w Northampton Chronicle i Echo i pracował w wielu lokalnych gazetach, zanim dostał pracę na Bahamach w Nassau Daily Tribune . Po pracy dla Life wrócił do Wielkiej Brytanii, aby pracować dla Daily Mirror jako pod-redaktor.
