Spaces[edit]

Hi. Here's a request– when adding information to the match summaries (like toss and umpire information), please add the text after the space following the equals sign instead of before the space. Thanks. মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 09:07, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Net Run Rate[edit]

Ok I have got little bit idea one last time can you explain the match between Indonesia and Hong Kong where Hong Kong won by 8 wickets can explain by this match one last time. @Godknowme1 Nexovia (talk) 04:35, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia score 75 runs in 31.4 over in reply Hongkong chased down target in 13.5 overs by scoring 76 runs. For Hong Kong Run rate (76/13.83-75/50)=+3.99
For indonesi run raye (75/50-76/13.83)=-3.99
Here Hong Kong batted for 13.5 overs which is 13.83 overs here 5 ball Hong Kong faced converted in over by dividing 5/6(1 overs consist 6 ball)
since Indonesia all out in 31.4 overs so their all 50 overs will consider for calculation of NRR. If team all out before there allocated overs no matter how much overs they play all over will be taken for calculation that how RR or NRR calculated. Godknowme1 (talk) 04:55, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you now I understand and if a team loses 2 matches so the points wil be added of the two matches defeats. Nexovia (talk) 05:12, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Godknowme1 Can you tell me how nepal get run rate in recent match with saudi is it added with recent run rate. Nexovia (talk) 08:00, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In general we talk about NRR in this case Nepal won by huge margin so Nepal run rate increase thank you Godknowme1 (talk) 01:57, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In general I have understand how is net run rate calculated but I have one confusion now that if a team win 2 matches so is the net run rate of 1st match is added to the run rate of 2nd match or what.@Godknowme1 Nexovia (talk) 08:10, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects[edit]

Hi. Please can you not create pages for cricket players and immediately redirect them to a player list, for example Khalid Shah. This results in links on that page redirecting to the same page. New players do not need a page created (even a redirect) unless they pass notability criteria, and they can remain unlinked on the series page. Bs1jac (talk) 16:09, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ok no problem, but isn’t it enough to pass notability criteria after debut for country?? Godknowme1 (talk) 00:26, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Bs1jac I saw your comment in Africa Regional final fixture, I have added those contents in fixture and don’t think i have made any mistake what wrong with you man one problem in you is you think your are the only one who knows everything in associated cricket and you believed that there is no other who follows or knows about them and you the right to make articles or edit about them thats why you don’t appreciate others work. I added that content so that others user will come and edit remaining details as it make others editior easier and also i had hidden until the venue and time details published. Hope you start appreciate others work also we are also learning in every step hope you got what i trying to say.
Thank you. Godknowme1 (talk) 01:58, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Sorry if you have taken offence. Actually I promote all interest in AMs, and welcome the help after many years.
There have been many discussions on this subject of notability. Unfortunately, playing for an AM does not automatically pass WP:GNG unless at a world cup or global event. We were threatened by general Wiki admins for creating too many pages on amateur players.
For the Africa fixtures I simply questioned why add and hide them when some of the dates were unknown. Never suggested anything was wrong. Then I made small adjustments to go with standard layout and to tidy up slightly (some of which merely to make future edits a bit easier for everyone, like adding spaces).
Thanks for your efforts. Bs1jac (talk) 08:16, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Bs1jac
There is some confusion regarding ground used in 2023 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, there are two ground in Mulpani one is under construction (Mulpani Cricket Ground) and one which is used in this tournament is actually Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground so I think we should make new page could you please create separate page for Upper ground which has hosted ACC Premier cup, Tri-nation series. If not we should change the name Mulpani Cricket Stadium to Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground what do you say? Godknowme1 (talk) 13:09, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Am I right in thinking that the new stadium will become the "main" one in Mulpani? Are they at different sites or two grounds at the same complex? I think its probably ok for now... then when the new stadium has been completed, and used, we can look at it again. At that point, the best thing would probably be to 'move' the existing page to Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground, then create a new page for the new one called Mulpani Cricket Ground (we cant use Mulpani Cricket Stadium as that would become a redirect to Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground. Bs1jac (talk) 13:16, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just to add to my earlier thoughts, we should make sure everything in the existing page is about the existing stadium. Obviously mention that there is another stadium under constructjon. When the new stadium is complete, we can then move this page to a new title and make a new one called Mulpani Cricket Ground (and we can add a "not to be confused with" tag). Bs1jac (talk) 16:47, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem both ground are in same place and separate by may be 100 meters the one which is hosting game is maintained by CAN and other one (under construction) by National sports council. Both are totally different ground and maintained by different org. so I thought it will be easier which ground is actually used if there is separate profiles. Even ESPNcricinfo and Cricbuzz using the Mulapani Cricket Ground (old one) and they also don’t have separate profiles, may be they will make when the main ground will complete. And regarding Honk Kong national cricket team what do you think now they are playing under the banner of Hong Kong China do you think their page also need some changes ?? Let me know thank you. Godknowme1 (talk) 00:01, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Yes I was thinking the same, let's wait for now as Cricinfo etc all have a single venue. When the new ground is completed and those databases add it, we can decide what do to. It would make sense for the current page to keep the current page for the existing venue, and a new page for the new ground, but we'll be more clear on the exact titles later. I was thinking about HK too, but I think leave it for now as "Hong Kong" is still by far the most common usage among media reports (even though it is technically Hong Kong, China). Similarly, Czech Republic should really be Czechia, but I believe that conversation came up before in other sports and it was decided that it wasn't 'common English, despite being an official name'. Lot's of arguments either way on that one! Bs1jac (talk) 18:59, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
